Roosevelt Hunter
Roosevelt Hunter Slipped Into Eternity
It is with great sadness that I write to inform you that our good friend and YC speaker (‘04, ’06, ’09), Roosevelt Hunter, passed away on August 10, 2009 after a lengthy battle with cancer.
This generation has lost a great voice and he will surely be missed. Just a year ago we were with Roosevelt in Malawi where we not only got to really know him well but where we saw God use him to speak powerfully at YC Malawi where hundreds came to know Christ.
More details on Roosevelt’s ministry and his passing can be found on his web site rooseveltonline.com. It addition, a tribute page on Facebook can be found here.
Please keep his wife Eileen, his children (Trinity Joy and Israel David), and their family in prayer. We will be searching for another keynote speaker for October and we appreciate your prayers as we finalize our planning.
For this generation.

Family Man! Comedian! Author! Humanitarian! Motivational Speaker! Teacher! Church Planter! These are all words that best exemplify Roosevelt Hunter's persona!
Roosevelt was born on November 30, 1963 in Detroit, Michigan. He married Eileen Victorino on June 6, 1993. The Hunters have two beautiful children; Trinity Joy and Israel David who have become the "small wonders" of their lives.
Having grown up the son of a Baptist minister in ‘Motown', he understands the struggles of the Urban Lifestyle and has fought against the invitations of drug dealers and war lords. Roosevelt's story from ‘worst to first' has become a personal favorite to thousands around the world and has inspired many to greatness.
Roosevelt has had the awesome privilege of being mentored by Pastor David Wilkerson in New York City, Pastor Denny Duron in Shreveport Louisiana, Dr. Mark Rutland at Southeastern University, and Dr. Billy Graham world Evangelist. He has had hands laid on him for blessing and impartation by Dr. David Cho, Bishop T.D. Jakes, and Evangelist Rinehart Bonke. Throughout his humanitarian travels he has met Alan Keys, Donald Trump, Kirk Franklin, Bishop Eddie Long and Oprah Winfrey. He says, "Influence and inspiration are key ingredients for a life of determination and excellence".
Over the past 16 years, Roosevelt has been an international communicator and humanitarian in over 27 different countries sharing a message of love, hope, and redemption. He has flown nearly 2 million air miles speaking to churches, corporations, universities, non-profit organizations and professional athletes. His ability to coach people and engage hearts has caused him to become one of the most sought after communicators in America. Roosevelt's entrepreneurial spirit will challenge you to live life at the highest possible level!
Roosevelt is blessed with a unique ability to teach the practical truths of God's Word to both young and old. His humor has transcended racial and denominational walls for years as he attempts to ‘tickle the oyster in order to grab the pearl'. His heart has always leaned towards this "Exile Generation" and has driven him to speak at over 120 retreats, 100 youth camps, and 80 youth conventions.
For nearly 5 years he partnered with Dr. Mark Rutland at Southeastern University where he also attended school. Southeastern is the fastest growing private university in America and was staff Evangelist for Victory Church with Pastor Wayne Blackburn. Victory is one of the largest mega-churches in Lakeland Florida. Now Roosevelt travels full time to the Nations bringing reconciliation as he shares the Good News of the Gospel and serves the less fortunate. He is Founder and President of World Passion and Over the Top Communications. He has been a keynote speaker for Promise Keepers and occasionally tours and speaks for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He also speaks to world wide viewing audience of TBN.
Roosevelt is available for renewal services, marriage seminars, spiritual encounters, consulting, and staff development. He can also share inspirational or motivational messages at alumni gatherings, corporate training sessions, leadership summits, team building events, commencement exercises, high school assemblies, and personal performance tracts. He's incredibly gifted at keynote speaking and as event emcee.
Roosevelt's Personal Points of Passion are teaching the word, being an active part of his local church community, serving the less fortunate, missions, exercising, boating, biking, drinking organic tea, and hanging on the beach with his family.
